Axis Camera Recorder Setup

Downloaded the source & binary and in the process of setup.

1) Run the AxisCameraRecorder.exe
2) Add my camera (Axis211, 192.168.123.139, port 80)

Question:
1) Wall Port I put 80 but what should I put in the Physical Network value?  I put 80 as well but that doesn't seem to work because in the log file I'm getting errors unable to open video file.
2) Authentication - my camera requires username/password for viewing do I have to enable anonymous viewing to allow recorder to work?

Hi David

1) Wall Port I put 80 but what should I put in the Physical Network value?  I put 80 as well but that doesn't seem to work because in the log file I'm getting errors unable to open video file.

In our network environment, University labs, each IP camera, along with other computing equipment, plugs in to a wall port which is in turn connected to a patch room, then to the switches. For us, the Wall Port paramter was a means for us to keep track of the wall ports used. This is the same for Physical Network as our infrastructure is divided into a number of physical networks so this is just a text parameter to allow us to track whether, for example, the camera is plugged in to the Student or Staff network.

2) Authentication - my camera requires username/password for viewing do I have to enable anonymous viewing to allow recorder to work?

Currently the software doesn't support authentication although they could be interesting for a future version.

The other issue you are having would probably relate to the codec selection which you would also want to do through the software before starting to record. I have had a lot of luck with XVID if that helps. Let us know how you get on.

Regards
